Are you looking for musical inspiration for your party or event? Maybe “The Most Requested Songs of 2024” can help. This list is compiled based on over 2 million song requests made using the DJ Event Planner song request system (which we use).
UK Most Requested Songs
The system is used all over the world, with the vast majority of users in the USA. However, DJ Event Planner have kindly compiled the top 200 songs requested in the UK as well. The top 10 UK-requested party songs are:-

As you can see, older tracks still very much dominate the requests from private events in the UK but with Taylor Swift breaking into the top 10 for the first time.
The UK ‘Most Requested’ charts also include the top 30 requests from each decade from 1970s to 2020s, and charts for ‘Special Songs’ such as the most requested first dance track at a wedding.
International Charts
The International versions of the charts contain even more decades (going back to 1950s), and more ‘Special Songs’ not included in the UK version – such as the processional and recessional songs for wedding ceremonies.
Do Not Play!
As well as the most popular songs, there’s also a list of the tracks that people most frequently add to their ‘Do Not Play’ list. It always amuses me how many songs appear on both the ‘Must Play’ and ‘Do Not Play’ lists! It really does depend on your personal taste – a lot of the ‘Do not Play’ tracks are the party/anthem/cheesy/overplayed/trite (pick an adjective to suit your tastes!) songs. We always discuss music with our clients, so we will know what your thoughts are on the subject. We’re happy to steer clear of the obvious if that’s what you want (there are soooooo many good tracks out there, and Steve loves working events that are a bit different to the usual). Likewise, if a total cheese fest is what floats your boat, then we can do that too.
Should I Use This List To Compile Music For My Party?
If you book the right DJ for your party, you don’t really need long lists of songs – just make sure you’ve had a good chat before you book to make sure (s)he gets the vibe you’re after and can deliver, then give a short list of songs you really, really, really want, and (s)he will craft a great night for you and your guests, but the ‘Most Requested Songs of 2024’ might come in useful if you’re tying to go DIY for your party, or to give you inspiration for your wedding ceremony or first dance, etc.
